Main areas of practice

 Treating sleep difficulties can have such a positive impact on our health and life. I enjoy working collaboratively with adolescents and adults to address a variety of sleep difficulties. The main treatment I use is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-Insomnia, CBT-I which can assist with:

  • Insomnia
  • Establishing healthy sleep routines (sleep hygiene)
  • Relaxation skills
  • Stress management (feeling burnt out)
  • Fatigue management
  • Anxiety that can intefere with sleep (overthinking, tension, panic)
  • Pain that can intefere with sleep
Mindfulness is another evidence-based therapy for Insomnia which I use where appropriate.
 
Are you an extreme night owl or early bird?  I can also assist with body clock (circadian rhythm) problems such as advanced and delayed sleep phase.  
 
I also work with clients experiencing chronic nightmares.
 

I completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology at The University of Western Australia and a Masters in Clinical Psychology at James Cook University in Townsville. I am excited to be working at Sleep Matters assisting clients with their sleep health.
