Clinical Psychologist (Registrar)
Kasia sees adolescents (15+) and adults
I work with teenagers and adults who experience poor sleep and may also have stress, low mood and/or anxiety.
I have a particular interest in sleep psychology and the important role that sleep plays in health and wellbeing. Through my work at Sleep Matters, Perth, I offer cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) to help clients overcome sleep problems and achieve sustained long-term improvements in their sleep. CBT-Insomnia is the recommended first-line treatment for Insomnia. It's a short-term, evidence-based treatment method that involves helping people to change the way they think about their sleep and correcting unhelpful behavioural routines that disrupt a healthy sleep pattern. Sometimes techniques such as Mindfulness and relaxation can be helpful too. I develop an individualised treatment plan, using evidence-based treatment components for each client.
Treating sleep problems such as insomnia not only improves sleep and energy, but can lead to significant improvements in mood, anxiety, and overall sense of well-being. I work with people experiencing stand-alone insomnia as well as those who may also experience stress, anxiety, and/or low mood in addition to poor sleep.
I speak fluent Polish and can offer consultations in Polish as well as English.
