Brief Bio

Hello. I'm a psychologist with over 20 years experience across a range of settings such as government agencies, private organisations, and  private practice. Much of my work has been in the health psychology field and I understand how effective making behavioural and psychological changes can be both for improving health and improving wellbeing when navigating through a challening health issue.

I enjoy my work in sleep psychology and appreciate that difficulty sleeping can have a negative impact on many areas of life. Thankfully, psychological tratment for insomnia and related sleep problems is highly effective for most people. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT) which is the gold standard tratment for this common sleep difficulty. As a client you'll experience a sense of kindness, humour and candour in your consultations with me.

I enjoy working with teenagers (age 15+) and adults to help them establish healthy sleep patterns. Utlimately, we want to work towards sleep running well in the background so that you can get back to living your life to it's potential. This might involve working towards more helpful routines, implementing relaxation strategies, bright light therapy, managing a busy mind, reducing stress, establishing a healthy life balance, or working to reduce nighttime anxieties.

Many clients experience poor sleep alongside mood, stress, and/or anxiety. Working to improve sleep as well as managing mood or anxiety difficulties can bring about positive results. My broad experience means I am well placed to assist with sleep and also a range of other concerns if this is needed.

Main areas of practice

  • Circadian Rhythm problems such as Delayed Sleep Phase / Advanced Sleep Phase & shiftowork
