Hello, I look forward to working with you to improve your sleep and wellbeing. When sleep becomes an issue, it can dominate life and get in the way of so many things. I use well-validated psychological and behavioural treatments to help people with sleep difficulties. For example, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which is the recommended first line treatment for insomnia and can be very effective in as few as four consultations. CBT-I helps you to establish the optimal sleep routine for you, reduce worry and stress about sleep, and start living your life the way you want to. It is very rewarding to see how much better clients feel in themselves when their insomnia has resolved.
In addition to my work at Sleep Matters, I have run a CBT-I program with older adults as part of a clinical trial at UWA. I work with children, teens and adults. In addition to insomnia, I work with people experiencing difficulties with managing shiftwork, nightmares, adolescent body clock changes, childhood nighttime fears and behavioural issues that make establishing a bedtime routine challenging.
As a Clinical Psychologist Registrar, I can support you with managing other issues impacting your sleep such as anxiety and worry, low mood, stress, or relationship difficulties.
