Registered Psychologist

Sleep is one of the most powerful foundations for our mental and physical health. When it's disrupted, everything from mood and thinking to energy and relationships can be affected. My passion is helping people restore healthy sleep - and with it, quality of life.
I bring an unusual blend of expertise to sleep psychology, having first trained as a clinical neuropsychologist before working as a psychologist researcher. My work has focused on understanding how sleep interacts with brain health, mental health, and daytime functioning, and on developing evidence-based treatments that make a real difference in people's lives.
I am committed to ensuring my clients benefit from the very latest knowledge in behavioural sleep medicine, drawing on my experience in research, clinical service development, and teaching. Whether your sleep difficulties are recent or long-standing, my aim is to help you break the cycle and enjoy the benefits of restorative sleep.
In my clinical practice, I work with young people and adults experiencing:
- Insomnia
- Circadian rhythm disorders (including shift work challenges)
- Nightmares
- Hypersomnia
- Fatigue
I take a collaborative approach - we set goals together, tailor strategies to your lifestyle, and focus on making changes that are both practical and sustainable.
Alongside my academic role at the University of Western Australia, I led the design of specialist sleep clinic for people with mental health issues. I have worked with Dr Melissa Ree for nearly 10 years on adaptions to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and have collaborated on many peer-reviewed publications and a text book on the use of Cognitive behaviour Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) in people with mental illness. I've also provided expert scientific witness reports in criminal cases involving sleep loss and sleep disorders such as sleep apnoea and parasomnias.
