Trouble sleeping is common and can impact our wellbeing in many ways. Understanding how sleep is regulated, how a healthy night of sleep looks, and how to work to set up conditions for healthy sleep can be very effective for managing a range of sleep difficulties.
I enjoy working with children and their parents, teens, and adults to help them understand their sleep and develop healthy sleep routines and attitudes around their sleep.
I can support you with a range of sleep-related difficulties including:
- Insomnia (we use the recommended gold standard treatment, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-Insomnia)
- Chronic nightmares
- Coping with shiftwork
- Circadian rhythm disorders (e.g. being an extreme night owl or early bird)
- Night-time fears (including fear of the dark)
- Daytime fatigue
- Getting used to a CPAP machine (for obstructive sleep panea)
- Life balance and stress management
- Anxiety and low mood that can impact sleep (and be impacted by poor sleep)
